Well, Obama succeeded
Small communities, like Augusta, are going to hurt. I was at a low country boil tonight around the corner, kind of a tradition, and there were hardly any private jets flying in. To be honest, I've probably only heard about 3 in the past 4 hours. We used to get about 3 every 10 minutes or so. Many of you libs probably think that's good. Screw the rich, right? Well, guess who makes money off of those rich?

I wouldn't be surprised if the National is selling tickets outside the Washington Road gate this year. Hardly any house in my neighborhood rented this year....and that's down from last year about 80%.

Banks? Much of the rich's money goes into off shore account and into "investments"(ie worthless paper instead of actual physical things) not expanding businesses and hiring people.

Btw, what is a "low country boil". I know DeKalb(Illinois not Georgia) has a "corn boil" (boil a lot of corn on the cob) every year. Is that similar? My mom was just down in Georgia and she always talks about boiled peanuts. Is that what the boil is?

No, not the banks. This community gets a shot of adrenaline into the economy every full, first week of April. This isn't restricted to this one area. Las Vegas's mayor has stated the same thing.

A low country boil is water, shrimp, small cobs of corn, sausage, crab boil, and other things. You can add blue crab, or other seafood, but it's generally just shrimp. Gets it's name from the Carolina low country as the coastal waters are full of shrimp around places like Beaufort, SC. (Where Forrest Gump's shrimping days were actually filmed).

Remove the oysters, which we don't normally use, and those pod-looking things, and that's how we normally do it.

I think thats an artichoke.

Rob, he's talking about the community makes no money during the Masters if no one shows up to spend. People who depend on that infusion of money. You just never get it. If the rich suffer, everyone suffers.

Jeez, your amazing. What do you think companies use to expand businesses and hire people? Investment capital i.e. your "worthless paper".

how much are practice round tickets going for on the street?

in past years they'd go for as much at $500 per ticket, for a practice round. maybe more.

pretty bad, Wells Fargo is so scared of the backstabbing Obama that they do not want to put their name on the former Wachovia Championship(now just Quail Hollow championship) in Charlotte. Since they took some TARP money and they are afraid it will be politicized and they used as the next Whipping Boy for the fascist on the Left.

btw, if you ever want to witness a manmade Garden of Eden...visit Augusta during Masters Week, get a practice round ticket.

last I remember its about $2 for a deviled egg sandwhich or Pimento Cheese and 1.75 for a Beer...pretty good prices compared to other Golf Tourneys. At US Open in Pinehurst, everything was $5 plus

They use company money not personal money. Of course, expanding depends on what is expected of the company in the stock market and if the company has profits thus many times growth is slow or non-existent. The CEO's personal money tends to go into bank accounts(after they stimulated the economy-in Mexico- buy buying 2 million dollar plus houses which were built by Jose and Jesus(no, not the Bible Jesus)) and worthless paper.

As it should be publicized. While they are slappping customers with 30% interest rates, they should be publicized for what they really are.

Robert, ever contemplated what will happen to your life when "Atlas Shrugs"? It will not be pleasant.

A long time ago I went to the Westchester Open. The entire area was made of money, even the guy that mows your lawn has a chauffeur. This is prime real estate just above NYC.

A beer in a plastic souvenir cup at the Masters is about 2.50. It's, by far, the cheapest major, of any sport, in terms of concessions. About 5 years ago I went when it was cold as hell and raining. I bought this for a half-off price of 75 bucks:

75 bucks for an insulated, reversible pull over with a logo, isn't expensive.

I remember Bobby Jones golf shirts costing retail(over $100) w/masters logo on it.

its not bad for a sporting event, the Masters is something every sports fan should make it to once

I went once back when the Femi-nazi was causing trouble. Someone on street was selling a T-shirt mocking her, it was hilarious but can't remember what it said at the moment.

It's weird once you get on the course. When you think about Washington Road, with ALLL THE DAMN BUSINESSES, once you get in, you're completely isolated by the bamboo barricade. Hell, Washington Road is one of the busiest roads in the CSRA.

...but those guys on Berkman's Road, with big front yards, bank every year selling parking. Hell, many re-sod their entire yard and still have thousands left over.
