IRS letter
I got a communication from the IRS today.

I noticed that the letter used "Dear taxpayer" instead of my name in the salutation.

When I write them back with my response, I am going to use "Dear Criminals" in my salutation.03-lmfao

Hey..I just want to be as accurate in my response as they were in writing me.05-stirthepot

As long as your response includes a check and the obligatory arm and leg I doubt the automatons will care.

It's a shame when your country's tax collection organization is the most powerful government entity. Fo refers to the Internal Revenue "Service" as criminals; I refer to them as extortionists. They require you to give your money to them and then if you make a mistake in paying them, they have the right to take your paycheck and suck everything out of it until they have what they are owed.

RE: IRS letter
The actual workers themselves are probably decent individuals. I am with the Coast Guard, which some people on this board will say is a tool in this meaningless war on drugs. The small time guys in the IRS are people just trying to make a living just like you and I. When I mention the companies that they work for, for example AIG or IRS, I am referring to the companies themselves and not of the people. It's more about the policies of the employer than the people on the front lines.

Of all the bureaucrats...I can think of none more repugnant. I don't personally hold anything against bureaucrats because as you point out they are just trying to make a living. I do however loathe who they work for.

Robert, you really are one sad sad case boy ....

These "Thugs", since you love to call me that, have a S.W.A.T. Team that will make a Military Spec Op's A-Team blush like virgins and when they hit, they tear down everything.

You have no idea who or what "YOUR" IRS is or the Jack-Booted Nazi'esque Tactics they will stoop too when they raid or seize personal and private property because of money that DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM.

Elia Gonzales had a freggin keg party with the INS Raiders compared to what the IRS Lone Wolves would have done to him and his family.

You honestly need to either learn of the things you "TRY" to post about or just please STFU.

Sounds like you didn't pay your taxes(or lied on them) and they came after you to collect what you owe. 05-stirthepot I have not had any problems to this point. I made a small mistake and they just sent me a letter explaining my mistake and made the correction. No SWAT teams came to my door threatening me with death or prison time to know why I made the mistake and demand I give them any money.

I was just thinking that the reason they sent the SWAT team to you is because of all the guns that you own and weren't affraid to use them as "protection". 05-stirthepot

No Robert, I have always paid my share of the Illegal Taxes these Thieves demand from me.

I have friends in Law Enforcement and I know the IRS has one of the best equipped and meanest SWAT-like Paramilitary Units in the entire World.

I have not been raided droop-wad.

Then you haven't met the bureaucrats I have. Many of them are obstructionists, halting progress to getting the job done. Others are kingdom builders, trying to amass their own little fiefdoms w/in the gov't, they too are doing far more than trying to make a living.

RE: IRS letter
To me one of the great fallacies in so many arguments from the left is the idea that greedy capitalists are ruining things, and all we need to do to fix them is to give control to the government. Giving things to the government means giving control to a bunch of bureaucrats who are just as greedy and evil as any capitalist, and who have no accountability to boot.

Is there any reason to believe that political greed is any less evil than economic greed?

Political greed is probably worse because it comes with the power to rule the masses and is backed up by the military.

Yes...The use of coercion and violence of political greed.
