"Hillary: The Movie" goes to court
It seems that only liberals can make films which are critical of politicians...

Quote:Months after its debut, "Hillary: The Movie" faces nine of the nation's toughest critics: the Supreme Court.

The justices' review of the slashing documentary financed by longtime critics of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton could bring more than just a thumbs up or thumbs down. It may settle the question of whether the government can regulate a politically charged film as a campaign ad.

David Bossie, a former Republican congressional aide who produced the Clinton movie and another describing then-Sen. Barack Obama as an overhyped media darling, said his films are about important moments in American politics.

"The outcome of this case will dictate how we're able to make films and educate people about them," he said.

Case to be argued Tuesday
At issue in the case being argued before justices Tuesday is the 90-minute anti-Clinton movie and television ads Bossie wanted to air during the 2008 primaries advertising the film.

Bossie's group, the conservative Citizens United, released the movie as Clinton, then a New York senator, was competing with Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The movie is unquestionably anti-Clinton, featuring commentary from conservative pundits, some of whom specifically say Clinton was not fit to be commander in chief.

One scene, which was used in an ad, has Dick Morris, a former adviser to President Bill Clinton who is now a critic of the Clintons, saying the senator is "the closest thing we have in America to a European socialist."

"Path to 9/11", which bubba had censored via bullying ABC, has yet to be released to DVD.

Steps to becoming a Banarepublic

1) Cult of Personality
2) Nationalization
3) Censorship of political speech...

this is an important SCOTUS moment

.

Where was this death bed outcry from the Lefties and other half-wits when the movie "W" came out ????

Hey, you have Oliver Stone(d) who is the Michael Moore of Hollywood, casting the Spawn of the most uber-Liberal and hateful about it James Brolin, who is Mr, Barbara Streisand no less, the greatest actor on earth, his son, Josh Brolin.

I mean if Charlie Sheen weren't so burned out, they most likely would have gotten him to play the part, but man !!!!! To get the "Step Son" of Barbara Streisand to play George W. Bush is like winning the golden nipple.

Why do we need a Hilary Movie anyway ??? We know all the nasty little things there are too know and what little we don't, well it can't be all that much.

I wonder why Hollywood is not raising a stink as high as K2 on this one about Freedom of Expression and the 1st Amendment and the Right to Bear Film ?????

I guess I will have to figure that one out with some help from RobertN ...

Did any of you actually SEE "W" or are you commenting on it based on what Rush Limbaugh said?

It is not about the "Context or Content" of the movie "W" .... it is the hypocrisy that they can make one about GW, but they can't make one about the Untouchable Princess Arkansas ?????

Give me a freggin break Robert.

I have seen some pretty Slanderous movies about several Modern Era Presidents and they especially Demonized Nixon to the point of absurd.

Hilary put her self in the Public Spot Light and now she wants Anonymity and Privacy ???

Not on your bleedin' life RobertN .... not a chance !!!!!

Yay, more spin.

This is the only thing the court is deciding:

It may settle the question of whether the government can regulate a politically charged film as a campaign ad.

It is not a referendum on that Hilary movie.
