I'm not Irish so I don't "really" celebrate it. I drink beer with a nice dinner that I think would be considered an Irish dinner. Oh yea, and probably wear a green tie or something of that nature. I dunno. It depends how I feel that morning.

RE: Happy St. Patty's Day
Pattys is a high holy lucky day in our household even without a trace of Obama -Irish ancestry.

Met my wife to be at a Pattys party in DeKalb 43 years ago...and the weather then was similar to yesterday's...

We celebrated yesterday in Lincoln Park and brown bagged lunch at lakefront.

Cabbage and beer made for deadly gas attack. Wrigleyville was evacuated sometime after 8pm.

Oh, so that was YOU!!! 04-jawdrop

Two years ago, the NIU Alumni Association had a lovely St. Patrick's Day party at the BAVC that my wife and I and our cousins attended. We enjoyed it very much. It was a small, intimate gathering with a corned beef and cabbage dinner, liquor, and scrumptious dessert buffet. They even had an Irish singer performing. Apparently, not enough people attended, and it has not been held again. Next year, I'll see if I can induce the Alumni Association to bring it back. I really miss it! 03-weeping
