Not a Depaul fan either, but good to see them win and break that 18 game losing streak. I like Coach Wainwright, he has gotten an unfair part of the blame this year.

They went 0-18 in conference, he deserves all the blame he gets.

hasn't he been there multiple years? and they went 0-18? I'm done commenting on the ludicrous MD posts...I vow to never again post something in reply to one of MD's posts that is ridiculous (90% of them)

He had 2 seniors (1 a JC transfer and in his 2nd year) and 1 Junior. All the rest of the roster are freshman and sophomores playing in the best hoops conference in America. DePaul will be wise to keep him around, NU being patient with Carmody has paid off with 17 wins this year.

When I heard Wainright on air a few weeks ago and he sighted youth and his mistake for not having more upperclassmen on the roster, I immediatley thought of NIU & Patton.

That is not even remotely close to the same situation. Patton is in the process of rebuilding a program. You can't do that without a few years of youth. Depaul's problem is that they are playing in a conference way over their heads. That is not the coaches fault.

RE: No DePaul fan but ....
Yes, DePaul could be in over their heads in Big East.

As an independent , Demons were able to fatten up on some easy Ws sandwiched inbetween the marque games with ND, Marquette, etc....

However, Wainright himself acknowledged in the interview that HE is responsible for the players on the floor and the youth of his team.

He said HE put his young players in a difficult position and had unreasonable hopes they could grow up fast and be competitive.

Did DePaul NOT lose a few upperclassman from their roster last year?

Didn't Patton push a few NIU players out the door?
Demons Coach could have brought in a few JCs.
