Remember this, 9/11 was entirely preventable in the legal/espionage environment of the day without one single change that has been made subsequently.

Its sad that the FBI Agent in Minnesota that was involved in the Moussoui investigation was fired for bypassing the "chain of command" and asking the CIA for what they had on the suspect.

i have a question. I remember in high school how tons of people were pissed that the republicans were using fear in order to have a reason to go to war. 'Fearmongering' was a popular term and one that was thrown at everyone who supported the war and the republicans. My question is, why isn't anyone throwing this term at Pelosi and the Dems? Isn't she doing the same thing in order to get a 2nd stimulus bill through?

Everyone was mad at how much the war cost, but won't these bills cost just as much?

maybe i'm wrong about all this but it sure seems basically the same

You are not wrong.

The WAR over the last 7 years cost the same as the Omin-PORK-ulas Bill just passed to run the government from March 15, 2009 to Sept. 15, 2009, 6 months. And they passed it in record time after the 1.2 trillion dollar, UN-stimulus bill. Raising all spending 8.5% at a time when a major crisis is pending.

Well, considering there were many economists who said the first package wasn't big enough, I would not think it was meant to scare people. As for the difference in costs, this money is to better America. THe money spent in Iraq went, well, to Iraq while our country was being neglected.

many economists thought it was way too much, and everybody knows that there was little or make that NO OVERSIGHT. It was a take the money and run deal. Paulson should be hanged as a traitor.

And many economist say the best thing the government could do is get out of the way. Those would be the right ones.

The federal reserve needs to either have pubic oversight or it needs to be abolished. This group has total control of the money supply and there is really nothing anyone can do about it. The founders (particularly Jefferson) warned vehemently against this type of control.

Totally agree, When the reserve went to Bush and told him of the impending implosion, THAT ALONE SHOULD HAVE SIGNALED THE END TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

Does anyone here agree with me that we're seeing waaaay too much of Pelosi these days? When she speaks she sounds like an idiot.

but the republicans claimed the war was in defense of america. the Dems are claiming the same thing, it's just that they're using a stimulus bill instead of a war. Obama stands up in the front of the country and tells us that this is the worst crisis we've ever faced and that we need to act as soon as possible and not argue about it; isn't that fear mongering? Am i just using the term incorrectly?
