Aiden? Jayden? Caden?
Damn, these SUCK!
The girls names aren't so bad...and we seem to have gotten past the era of stripper names.
I saw that. I work with kids, it seems like they are all named Hayley, Kayley, Aidan, Caden, Jaden it's crazy.

It could be worse. I know a fellow who's name was Hogjaw Twaddle - and Hogjaw's on his birth certificate too...

At least the name Barack doesn't appear on that list.

RE: What a bunch of sissy names!
You could probably go through the players in the NFL and NBA and come up with some creative, original and unique names...Plaxico is what I've always wanted to name my kid and I'm surprised it's not on the list.

Or, more likely we've just invented a new generation of stripperella names...
"And now intruducing for the first time on center pole, Isabella!"
I am of young child havin' age, and have a two year old. I am happy to say that my kid has a perfectly acceptable and normal name, spelled correctly, and is not on the top 50 names list.
I can't tell you how many of my friends and aquaintances have kids with names on these lists. When we get a baby announcement, I just shake my head - "Oh great, another 'Addison Ella' or 'Madison Olivia' or 'Jayden Caleb.' Seriously, I have to watch what I say whenever a conversation goes to baby names. Sooner or later I'll slip and say that "Aiden" is a trendy name and I would never name my kid such a trendy name, only to have whoever I am talking too give me the evil eye and let me know their nephew is "Aiden Jacob" or something.
It'll happen, I'm telling you - at which point I will backpeddle furiously and my wife will give me the silent treatment on the ride home.

RE: What a bunch of sissy names!
You should mock your friends though. Maybe they will stop with the ridiculous naming of their children and more importantly, you may make a childs life more bareable.
'Course you do still have the wife problem.

Racist? Are you serious? Calling something creative, original and unique is racist? One of the best NFL names is Laveranues Coles. My guess is his first name was derived from how the letters randomly lined up in his Mom's bowl of Alphabet Soup.

Nah, that's nothing to advocate. Let's just hope they learn to have good taste in the future.
