MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University women's soccer player Greer Barnes was named to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week for her efforts in a pair of league wins last week.

Barnes, an outside back, helped WVU hold two conference foes to a combined four shots on-goal in an undefeated weekend. She scored the game-tying goal on her first goal of the season against 16th-ranked Georgetown. The senior also held standout forward Toni Marie Hudson (Georgetown) to one shot attempt.

The Rye, N.Y., native and the Mountaineer defense held Villanova's starting forwards to zero shots for the game. She logged all 194 minutes in the two conference games that moved WVU into first place in the BIG EAST American Division.

The Soccer Buzz weekly honor is the third of the season for Barnes. She earned a spot on the team on Sept. 9 and Sept. 23.
