Contradiction...Democrat
Interesting, the democrats regard taking equity stakes in companies participating in the bailout a good idea, rather than a income tax surcharge on these companies. Why do the socialists, um, Democrats not think that allowing a portion of individual Social Security contributions being invested in Mutual funds is a good solution to help insure the future of the system?
Could it be that a healthy SSI would hurt the Democrats since they couldn't use it against Republicans every 4 years... "if Republicans are elected, they will cut SSI benefits". This threat should have NO credibility since the Republicans have controlled the House and Senate on more than one occasion in recent history and it has never happened.

RE: Contradiction...Democrat
Bingo.....we have a winner. Democrats always want people to "feel pain" and they also say they feel their pain"- They love to argue that they own less homes than republicans, less cars, less investments, .....blah...blah ...blah. Gore family has been long time major shareholders of Occidental petro oil company. Al Gore Sr was on its board of directors.....They seems to omit that Al Gore's wealth was made off his father's ties to big oil. Occidental was Armand Hammer's company. Hammer was a big part of the American Communist party. He was born in Russia and become a successfull oil man with his ties to Russia its global oil contracts. Its shocking that Democrats continue to embrace people that have past ties to the communist party. The U.S.S.R is coming back......United States Socialist Republic. President OBama as a puppet of premier Pelosi and her the poliboro led by Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Charlie Rangel. Time to break out the vodka because they will ban individual and business profit, guns and religion of a bitter nation under Democratic rule.

I'm sure you're mistaken - you must have him confused with Hammerand Sycle.
Quote:When young, Hammer sometimes claimed that his father had named him after a character, Armand Duval, in La Dame aux Camélias, a novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils. In fact, according to multiple biographers, Hammer was named after the "Arm and Hammer" symbol of the Socialist Labor Party (SLP), in which his father, a committed socialist, had a leadership role at one time.[7] (After the Russian Revolution, a part of the SLP under Julius' leadership split off to become a founding element of the Communist Party USA.) Later in his life, Hammer would admit the communist tie himself.[1]
...
Politically, Hammer was a staunch supporter of the Republican party. He boosted Richard Nixon's presidential campaign with $54,000 in campaign contributions. He was convicted on charges that one of these donations had been made illegally, but was later pardoned by Republican U.S. President George H. W. Bush.
This clearly explains Nixon's communist sympathies that led to Detente and the Nixon visit to China. Not to mention the Nixon white house's ties to Florida Cubans (known communist sympathizers) rise of Miami football, which would later win the national championship under another Republican with know ties to the Communist party (and responsible for Glasnost, no less). Finally, his ties to GHW Bush explain the whole "New World Order" thing.
ps: black helicopters are coming to get you.
