Sad Mount Rushmore of bad presidents.
I thought I would have a little fun. I figured it they could carve the good presidents faces in stone, what bad presidents would you carve in stone? Here are mine in no particular order.

James Buchanan
Warren G. Harding. (sad cause I like the Warren G. that regulates)
Herbert Hoover
Andrew Johnson
G. W. Bush

Lincoln, FDR, Andrew Jackson, and I'm not sure about the fourth (we'll leave a blank slate as a warning to future presidents that they too may be on the wall of shame).

RE: Mount Rushmore of bad presidents.
No Richard Nixon either. The guy had wage price controls, and had to resign or be removed from office. His VP plead no contest to bribery charges. I guess my list of the top four would be:
James Buchanan - set the table for the Civil War
Ulysses Grant - didn't have one sober day in the White House
Warren Harding - Teapot Dome
Richard Nixon - Watergate/Spiro Agnew, lost to Kennedy in 1960.

Honorable Mentions:
Herbert Hoover - Depression hit on his watch
Jimmy Carter - a theocrat in the White House
Bill Clinton - a serial adulterer in the White House
W - Couldn't find weapons of mass destruction

Are you serious about Lincoln and FDR? 01-wingedeagle

I'm going to remove Hoover, it wasn't his fault Coolidge did nothing to regulate during the 20's. Speaking of regulating, On December 19, 2007, he suffered a stroke, according to a coordinator for his recently formed gospel choir, Innate Praise. Reports had circulated that Nate Dogg had been admitted to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona, California after suffering a heart attack. Erica Beckwith, however, confirmed to MTV News that Nate Dogg was released on December 26 after being treated for a stroke and is currently in a medical-rehab facility to assist him in his recovery. On January 18, 2008, it was officially reported that the stroke had rendered the left side of his body paralyzed. Doctors believe there will be a full recovery, and his voice was not affected.[6]

On September 15, 2008, dubcnn.com reported Nate Dogg had suffered a second stroke. The latest reports say Nate Dogg is currently in stable condition.[7] On September 16, 2008, it was reported that Dogg is in serious condition and isn't breathing on his own

Get better soon Nate Dogg.

RE: Mount Rushmore of bad presidents.
Yes, I'm absolutely serious about Lincoln & FDR. And I can't believe I forgot about Nixon. There might not be an open spot on my wall after all.

Lincoln: The North was on the right side of the slavery issue, but the wrong side of the Civil War, and the Civil War was never really about slavery (though it was one of the major issues causing a division). The Confederacy no longer felt represented by the US government & attempted to withdraw its consent to be governed, exactly as the thirteen colonies had done 87 years earlier. The Emancipation Proclimation was a cynical document intended to keep the European powers from aiding the Confederacy while not freeing a single slave (it only applied to slaves in Confederate territories, not the remaining slaves in Union states). His actions more or less ended the federal system that our founders intended & centralized power in Washington, DC.

FDR: Basically everything he did during the Great Depression was exactly wrong & only served to prolong & deepen the depression. His hubris prevented him from stepping down after his second term, overturning 100 years of tradition and requiring a constitutional ammendment to correct. He threatened to pack the Supreme Court in order to prevent them from overturning laws which were clearly unconstitutional and vastly expanded the size & scope of the federal government as a result. He rounded up US citizens & legal residents and threw them in internment camps with even less justification than those currently in Guantanamo Bay.

Carter - theocrat in the white house
W - another theocrat in the white house
Nixon - crook in the white house
Hoover - failed to stop the depression

Hmmmm - 3 of the 4 in my lifetime and all in the 20th/21st century, and we're still surviving. Maybe we can survive Obama. Then again, maybe not.

RE: Mount Rushmore of bad presidents.
Lincoln....Responsible for 1/2 million dead Americans.
FDR........Papa big government
Johnson..Total scumbag and founder of "great society"
Nixon......Foul mouthed egomaniac and liar.
Washington...Started the job off great by breaking the very constitution
that he held so sacred by putting down the Whiskey Rebellion.
Hoover....Thanks for the depression dumb***
Carter.....Price controls...A real free market guy
W .........Priceless amount of moronic sound bites recorded for posterity
Clinton....Used our house as the bunny ranch and was not man enough
to admit it when caught and lied to our faces.

This list is endless...There is something bad about every damn POTUS that has achieved power. It comes with the job. My Rushmore of bad POTUS would need a damn big piece of rock.
