Launches August 28th. Hopefully DirecTV picks it up (I'm guessing they will). Dish may be a little slower at adding it as they don't have as much satellite capacity as DirecTV right now.

DirecTV is launching around 30 new HD channels in August, but this one was absent. The launch date for most of these channels was August 15th, so maybe the press release was only detailing those channels.

Of the channels going to have HD feeds, 23 of them will be regional sports networks, mostly the FSN regional networks.

RE: OT: ESPNU Goes HD
Their press release was wrong, matt. 11 of the 23 RSNs are already full time HD. So 12 of the 35 or so HD channels are RSNs. Then they announced 3 or 4 HD channels. That leaves 19 or so HD channels of which I'm sure there is no way they are all PPV. They also will have room for 20 or so more HD channels after the addition of these next 35 channels.

Also, if you pay close attention to their release it listed channels by saying "among those that will be launched are..."

I hope FIOS picks it up ASAP.

I can't stand watching games on ESPNU simply b/c I have become a HD snob. Once you get used to high definition its tough watching games on std def.
