RE: Backstory of the Temple removal
We'll see. From afar I think the new coach has improved what was waste dump of a football program. There media market/geography/bball success is always going to keep them in the expansion discussion. We don't need them to be Penn St. If they could become as good as UC is in football, Temple could help us

DFW HOYA Wrote:Since Temple sold old Temple Stadium back in the 1980's, it has no other field at its disposal other than Lincoln Financial and they certainly could not afford games there in the CAA (the successor to A-10 football).

And for those who wonder, "what was Temple Stadium?" a link below.

Actually, the last time UC played at Temple (http://gobearcats.cstv.com/sports/m-foot...game4.html)

it was at Franklin Field (University of Pennsylvania).

Haven't both Cincinnati and Louisville scheduled Temple in football recently? I thought I remember that, not saying it is a big deal though.

UConn has a four game home-home with the Owls. Last year was the 1st game at UConn.

I have not seen Temple on any future Cincy Schedules. I cannot see any benefit to playing each other. If we play a MAC school you want it to be close for fan travel etc.

Temple's future schedules -- click here.

No evidence of Cincy, but clear evidence of UConn

While this is akin to a couple of midgets arguing over who's taller, despite Syracuse being at its lowest point ever and you (mistakenly) thinking that you're going somewhere, you're still a speck in our rear-view mirror.

Exactly, we finished a home-and-home with them. We played them back in 2002, in Philadelphia. That was the same day Bob Huggins had a heart attack because I remember being in the van with my family, listening to the UC game against Temple and hearing them report that Huggins suffered a massive heart attack. Then Temple came to Cincinnati and UC beat them in a triple-overtime thriller.

There actually is a lot of similarities between Temple and Cincinnati. The difference is, Cincinnati got serious about improving their facilities, fan support, athletic department, and status in collegiate sports, Temple didn't, until recently.

The Owls left Temple Stadium after an 8-2 season in 1974.

I'm just really tired of your guys' act, particularly on the MAC board.
