One thing that was obvious this year though it has been fairly apparent all along. The SEC title game wasn't created with TV in mind, they just wanted the gate from a big game, it wasn't really even factored into the TV deal when created. The other title games are made for TV. No conference has demonstrated the ability to consistently sell tickets for the games.

The title games also create an unneeded headache. They shorten the time for selling bowl tickets. There are 7 pre-Christmas games of the 14 slots five are BCS schools and 2 of those slots didn't get filled. Not having a title game increases the chances of having your bowl slots lined up before the last Saturday in December. The extra week to three weeks can make a big difference in ticket sales.

Do you think they'll give them up?
