West Virginia University has landed a commitment from Glendale (Ariz.) Community College running back Zach Hulce.

Hulce, 5-foot-10, 200 pounds, originally played at Gov. John Rogers High School in Puyallup, Wash., near Seattle. At Glendale, he rushed for 1,101 yards (5.5 per carry) with eight scores.

According to WVU officials, a report from another newspaper that the Mountaineers took safety L.A. Anderson of Northland Community College in Minnesota is incorrect.

200 lbs on a 5' 10" frame means he'll stand up to some abuse. What this will mean for WVU is anyone's guess. Whether he's any good at BCS level remains to be seen.

But 5.5 ypc ain't too shabby.

Is this for 2008 or for 2009? April 1, 2008 is the last date LOIs can be received for 2008.

The report didn't say. But rivals.com has him listed with WVU's 2008 recruits.
