17th - Memphis, because geography does not matter in the current format, Memphis would just be another extension.
If there is a split that involves an all sports conference then I say you have to look at what you're left with and fill in the holes.
Markets lost: NYC, D.C., Philly and there is a still the void in Mass. I did not include the midwestern market losses because if there is a split I think they would not go further west than Louisville, save Memphis which is a southern market.
As of right now I don't see any BE school which is a cupcake in football. Syracuse may be floundering but I am not one who sees it lasting forever. So I think Temple would be a safe bet because their basketball would skyrocket if involved in the BCS for all-sports and they replace a market.
Serious Consideration - Temple, Memphis, Central Florida, East Carolina. In that order. I have only included schools which sponser FBS football.
