MichaelSavage, With the name appeal UNC has due to it's basketball program, all UNC had to do was win over 8 games during the Mack Brown era & they would be ranked in the top 25. Check the schedules during his career at UNC and you will find that they were creampuffs. Remember, for a long time the ACC was known as Florida State and the Seven Dwarfs.

Brown beat some good teams there...USC, Mississippi State, WVU, Syracuse, VT off the top of my head.

MS, Those are pretty good teams now & historically, but I don't think they were playing at a high level during the Brown years.

Some were. Miss. State was pretty good under Sherrill and Syracuse & VT were strong teams when UNC beat them.
