Thompson has dropped out.

That leaves Huckabee, Guiliani, Romney, McCain, and Paul.

I'm thinking Rudy will be out after Florida. Thoughts?

This isn't about just Ron Paul. This is about restoration of what it means to be Republican across the full platform. REVOLUTION baby!

Thompson's best finish was 3rd in SC. Paul finished 2nd in Nevada. Paul has money still in the bank. Why should he quit?

Paul is the only one that campaigned in Nevada, other than Mitt who went out at the last few days. Paul spent alot of time there and gathered some Key Pimp and Whore endorsements from Nevada brothels. and Mitt still killed him, its one of those primaries/caucuses that arent near the importance of the others like NH, SC, FL....where everyone campaigns.

in SC he campainged alot as well and got a measley 3%.......

Thompson also did well in Iowa, the two states he campaigned in were IA and SC.

he should drop out because he's been an anti-Republican since the early 80's and is only using the party for the benefit of himself and the Democrats. and has no shot of winning, not to mention he is tainted with Wild Conspiracy theories and racism in his past.

Apparently Fred's mom is seriously ill. Probably a good time for him to step out and be available in September to be somebody's running mate or convention draft candidate if the other five are still standing at that point.

Fred should have known when to start.....

So much "hype" last summer...but he was lacking in organization, and thus money.

My bet as to the next to go is the Huckster after Florida.

I think Rudy is toast after Super Tuesday.

That leaves "Amigo" and Romney to duke it out for the nomination.

And I'll be ...03-banghead

Fred's polling avg was 10% average, for 5th behind McCain, Romney, Huck and Rudy.

if all of his 10 points went to Huckabee it'd be a dead heat nationally, if they went to Romney he'd still be slightly behind.

interestingly, before Huckabee surged Thompson was up near the lead around 20% in polls.

Poll numbers are just as much of a crock of **** with Republicans as they are with Democrats.

I don't see how McCain can lose.

I would think Romney had a shot to challenge him. A VERY good shot. But the media is not putting any pressure on McCain right now. None. They all love the story. And their critical eye is on the Democratic candidates right now. When was the last time you saw anyone in the media fact check McCain? If I were a Republican I'd be pissed at how a lazy and uninterested press has gift-wrapped this thing for McCain -- Just like they are gift-wrapping the Democratic nomination for Bill Clinton's third term.

Your kidding, right? Conservatives have been saying this all along. Oh, and just for the record, if a Dem is to be elected, I'd MUCH rather it be Obama, and I can't stand any of the Dems. All 3 are Socialist Santa Clauses to me.

I'm voting for Huckabee. Screw you, Fred. Stay the hell out of it if you don't really want it.

I'm baffled by all the politcal commentators saying that Thompson now will be throwing his support to McCain....

Back room deal already cut for VP?
