Major League Baseball hearing?!? Are you kidding me! The Country has serious drug problems in every major city and this is what they focus on!

How about their economic stimulus package, a 40cents/gallon tax increase on gasoline. That should do wonders for the economy. Maybe the Dems don't like controlling congress?

Just more proof that there REALLY isn't any difference in the parties. They're both only interested in getting the face time that gets them re-elected. Complain about what the other party isn't doing, and then don't do it yourself.

Fully agree, hambone. I've been arguing for years on this board that neither party is worth a damn, thus I call myself an independent and just look for someone who I think will screw up our country less.

Oh, yeah. It was the public's outrage about wasting time on baseball hearings that cost them the election. It had nothing to do with, oh, you know...

It was used as an example... "The Republican's never did anything LIKE that" (emphasis added) when in fact, they did something almost identical. It is pointless on an open political forum to try and compare something unimportant like a bridge to nowhere or baseball hearings to healthcare or war... though clearly, many of the tactics and activities that take place in one area take place in the other.

I'm not an independent. I'm a Republican. A TRUE Republican. I think that MOST of what the Federal government does, it shouldn't... FEDERAL taxes are a huge multiple of what they should be, and likely, state and local taxes are too low. The net financial effect to the individual would be minimal, but the ability to have your vote actually impact the world you choose to (or are forced to) live in would be improved.
