The Wahine (or is Rainbow Wahine? or Lady Bows? oh, never mind) beat Utah St in Logan in a tough 5-game match. The win put Hawai'i at 13-0, and wrapped up the regular season title.
With the loss, Utah St. dropped into a tie for 2nd with New Mexico St. at 9-4. Nevada sits in 4th at 8-5, following a mid-season meltdown.
Key upcoming matches:
11/12 Utah St travels to Las Cruces for a 2nd place showdown; a USU win would put the Blue Aggies in prime position, but an NMSU win would make things more interesting, because...
11/17 NMS travels to Honolulu for a probable drubbing, so the battle for 2nd could come down to...
11/19 Nevada travels to Logan. If NMS beats USU, and Hawaii beats NMS, then Nevada could get one last shot at 2nd place (barring any other upsets, of course).

Hats off to Utah State.
They're great sportswomen and they're a "very" good team.
When we added USU to the WAC...we added a class act.
Welcome to the WAC brahdahs and sistas.

You dakine nummahone class act, brah!
Lady Ags were up 2-1, lose 2-3.
Scheisse!
The Wahine are undefeated for a reason -- USU's 2-6 in extra game matches this season. Wahine are a force of nature out there.
Good luck. Now that the two matches with USU are out of the way, I hope the Wahine keep unblemished.

I'm glad that USU put up a tough fight. The Rainbow Wahine needs a conference rival to emerge in Women's Volleyball. So far the only team to play us consistently tough has been Nevada.
Both USU and NMSU have taken us to 5 games this season though!

What we really need is more womens gymnastics teams...............
I am serious....I have season tickets to Bronco gymnastics...I drive 66 miles in the winter just to watch them.....and with the gas prices in Idaho, that is a big commitment!!!

I have a funny feeling Bob's got another reason for paying $2.50+ a gallon of gas for those trips:

I think their will be a good 3 way rivalry going on in volleyball between Hawaii, USU, and NMSU in the future.

Don't forget Nevada in that VB mix.....they had a lot of injuries and faded because of it, but Nevada was the only team that could give Hawaii a run until this year.
As for the gymnasts.....not so much with the broad shoulders.
