RENO, Nev. - Brandon Fields, Matt LaGrone and JaVale McGee have signed national letters of intent to study and play basketball at the University of Nevada beginning in 2006-07, second-year head coach Mark Fox announced Wednesday.

Just wondering about early signings at other WAC Schools.

Watch out WAC...this Nevada team will be very good for years to come.

McGee is 6'11'' and might be the blue-chipper Nevada needs to replace Fazekas after this season (assuming he's NBA bound) or after the next. McGee was rated as the #6 player in the state of Illinois...and I think they know a thing or two about producing basketball players.

Fields was highly recruited and is supposed to be an outstanding player as well.

I don't know as much on LaGrone, but his brother was an outstanding athlete and played linebacker for the Pack. He's supposed to be a pretty good get as well.

Of course on signing day, every team looks like a national champion.

What about the rest of the WAC? Anyone else get early signings?

I think there are 2 others that NEvada is after right now to sign here.

Kirk Cunningham may make them title contenders by his sophmore year. Boise State is in a rebuilding year this year, but could be very good in 2006-2007.....

I'm not surprised to see Noonan higher ranked than Moritz, given that there's no comparison in the HS Jr numbers where Noonan shined in scoring, rebounding and blocks. But Moritz was 6' 8" last year is just under 6'11" today and still growing. To hear Graham talk of this kid, he's very athletic, has a good outside-inside game, etc. Throw him in there with Cunningham and we'll be as big as anyone inside for once.

Really, it's still been fun the past several seasons. Those seats are worth it, but will be seriously a bargain when Graham gets it going consistently. Maybe ATW moved a few rows down because he knows how loud it's going to get in section 8 this year?

ATW needs to find some seats on the end of a row....as much as he is up and down with his daughters............and yes the noise that BoiseStFan brings could have had a impact on his decision to move.....

If Boise St can get some good recruits as they have been, they'll be a consistent contender in the WAC. The Taco Bell Arena is a tough place to play when it is full and the Broncos are in their game. Boise St and NMSU are the programs that are lowest, right now, with the most potential to soar, IMHO.

Yes, the Taco Bell Arena is a tough place to play. I hate to MEAT BSU on that court.....and LETTUCE not forget the coach, or the head CHEESE, who is always crying about something.....just SOUR CREAM if you ask me.

As bad as some sponsorship deals are, I have to say that the Taco Bell Arena is probably the worst I've heard.
