I have to ask the same question. Perhaps he believes he will find allies in his senseless bashing of CUSA. It makes no sense to me but as they say misery loves company. Unfortunately there are some Louisville and Cincinnati fans that can't be just be happy their programs have moved to the Big East and I don't understand that line of thinking either. I have said it before and I'll say it again. CUSA helped Louisville build it's football program and for that I am grateful. I wish no ill will on any member program of CUSA. Good luck to your Eagles the rest of the season.

Have you read this thread? If you did, then you will notice that Kit-Kat is an Ohio University fan. The UC fans on this thread were defending the Big East versus the Mountain West conference. UC fans did not bash C-USA in this thread. And there were a couple of Memphis fans attacking the Big East in this thread.

I'm sorry but CUSA is not a better conference then the MAC.

1.Championship Game

-MAC plays in a NFL Stadium

-CUSA rotates among home sites (small time)

2. Bowls

-MAC all 3 bowl games are at neutral sites

-CUSA all bowl games except 1 are at home stadiums (cheap)

3. Relationship to other conferences

-MAC has scheduling agreement with Big Ten

-The SEC won't play in state schools in bowls (no respect)

4. Ability to compete

-MAC #3 school Ohio plays Virginia Tech tough on the road for 4 quarters.

-CUSA Sagarin #1 Tulsa is rolled 62 to 21 at home against Oklahoma.

I'm willing to accept the argument that CUSA is as good as the MAC. CUSA fans think they are categorically better and I'm not buying it. CUSA has better attendance but most schools are under the 30k threshold and they have nobody 60 or 70k which is good attendance by NCAA standards.

The term "Leftovers" left with TS2. Give the MAC and CUSA conferences their respect on the MAC and CUSA boards. This is a BE board and the BE will be selecting another member from CUSA in time -maybe. Things are still playing out until 2010 and there many options for the BE including standing pat with another extension of the super secret split pact. Right now time is on the side of the BE and its current members to sift this thing out.07-coffee3

Kit-Cat Wrote:I remember the predictions from CUSA fans that they would soon be a better football conference than the Big East.
Every conference has its folks who shoot off their mouths about anything and everything. I don't think that any of the knowledgeable CUSA fans with credibility or maturity made that statement. The statement was made by several fans that the football side of CUSA wouldn't suffer much in realignment. Now, that statement appears to be wrong as we're not nearly as good as we were before realignment.

It's amazing to me the boost that Louisville (despite today's dissapointment), Cincy and USF have received since joining the Big East. Louisville and USF are remarkably more respected since the conference change. The acceptance into a BCS conference has made lightyears difference to those three programs. What's happened to those football programs clearly deomonstrates that the BCS advantage is larger than any of us thought. ....jmho
