I guess you can only recruit great QB's and running backs for a few decades before the cupboard goes bare. We have been spoiled. As long as I have been a Rocket fan anyways...which is a while.

Well, the offense was productive last week and the defense gave up 52. Now, we have 2 more guys out on defense. If Hay has a concussion he will probably be out a couple games--although I guess it depends on the severity. The D may have a lot of heart, but they're still getting lit up badly in the second half. With all the injuries I don't know what you can do to fix that.

But, I will agree that the offense was not impressive today--in any facet of the game. We scored on a trick play--after a turnover if I remember correctly. Then we had a gimme with a few seconds left. Collins was probably running against their 3rd team.

I question conditioning, too, with all the injuries this year--not to mention that last year the OL was already decimated before game 1. Is it just a coincidence?

We've also seemed to be recruiting an awful lot of players from Ohio the past couple years. Not that it's a bad think in of itself, but are we not widening the net enough nationally anymore?

And, as a final note--I saved this 'til last....ISU beat Iowa today.
