If this story has any substance to it and I mean ANY SUBSTANCE, the NBA is done as we know it. An NBA official has been allegedly betting on NBA games, and there could be a mob connection. Doubt its true, but if it is, NBA cannot survive this.

I am willing to believe that it is true, I doubt they would release the name of the ref unless they were certain that it happened.

even if true , it will NOT be the end of NBA.......last time I checked Cincy still has the Reds in MLB , White Sox and MLB did not fold after JoeJ. and NU and BT are doing fine....and Jordan returned to the Bulls after his penalty was served in minor league baseball.

It IS however very, very bad news for NBA.

Baseball survived a rigged World Series, college basketball lives on after multiple point shaving scandals.

The NBA won't be nearly as hurt tby this as it could be for the simple reason that ESPN is so in bed with the leagues is has rights to that they're completely journalistically compromised.

Unless this ref knows about other refs shaving points (and if there is anything to know, which I doubt there is) then this story is basically already contained except for the detailed "this is what he did" story followed up by David Stern and several ESPN "analysts" saying how good it is that this is an isolated incident, etc.
