SO apparently the Jacque Jones trade to Florida was stopped by Bud Selhig because he did not want the Cubs to have any more "new debt."

What kind of BS is this? When Disney sold the Angels, Selig did not stop them from adding payroll, or paying for traded players salaries.

Reading the Cubs message board, many believe that he did this to keep the price of the Cubs down, so his buddy can buy the team.

Owners should have complete control over their team..There's no salary cap in baseball, so the Commish shouldn't step in and override a trade.

The Cubs are going to have no problem selling, so is their a point to this?

That is straight BS. I guess Horan had a point yesterday when he said that Selig would block a trade to help the Brewers.

FYF. Today's papers both state that, in fact, Bud Selig APPROVED the Jacque Jones trade and that the Cubs were who unplugged the deal.
