Consistently good? It's been a year and a half.

It's been 61 seasons for the Scrubs!03-lmfao02-13-banana

Yep that's right, the Scrubs haven't been to a WS (much less won one) since 1945. A person born in 1945 would be eligible to draw Social Security payments by 2007. So if they don't get to the WS this year (and the odds are very long that they will considering they aren't even at .500 yet), the Scubs will have succeeded in bamboozling an entire generation from cradle to retirement on the false hope they annual peddle.

Excellent news!!

Hate to say I told you so to some of the Cub fans in here that thought Williams would settle for anything less than 2 top prospects but it appears that is what happened. Boston was not willing to give enough, and good for the White Sox for saying "screw ya Boston" Buehrle is the kind of guy you want on your staff, I really hope this deal can get worked out.

Kenny Williams is so up and down it's hard to know what he'll do. One week he's defending his guys to no end and the next week he's throwing them all under the bus.

Oh.. and it was the Sox saying "screw ya Boston", it was more like Boston said those guys were never on the table.

Also.. why would the Sox want prospects? Williams specifically said he wants MLB ready players. Like you guys said, he isn't the rebuilding kind of guy.. he wants to win now.

According to Dave Van Dyck on WSCR, the Sox and Buehrle are talking a four year deal at $55 million.

can't argue with that. I'll be happy if Buehrle finished his career as a pale hose.

But, what if they pulled a sign and trade? 03-shhhh

Interesting, it looks like both sides might be giving in a little. Buehrle originally wanted a five year deal and the Sox usually only sign their pitchers to three year deals.

RE: Buehrle Trade
This thing is turning into one big soap opera now. He has no idea what is going on and said
Quote:"I don't know anything about it. Apparently they drugged me last night and I signed the deal. I guess I'm here for another 4 years."

Then he went on to say that he personally had had no conversations with management about an extension. His agent added this: "There are no ongoing discussions. I don't know what else to say other than there are no ongoing discussions. Maybe the White Sox are trying to gain the interest of other teams."

Hmm.. first the Sox plant this Buerhle to Boston rumor to stir up action now this?

So, reports are now saying that if the deal is not completed by Friday, he'll be traded.

Looks like deal will be wrapped up before the Sox return home...this is great news to hear.
