Since it suddenly means so much, do you wish you could go back and vote for the 2 military heroes of the past 2 elections, Bob Dole and George HW Bush?
Pick a side, and stick to it. If it meant nothing during the Clinton years, then it means nothing now. To suggest anything else shows your hypocricy.
Inhaling and skipping military duty WERE made out to be a big deal by the pubes during the Clinton elections. Now military service and not experimentation but addiction and abuse mean nothing? You're the ones that need to get it together - you want to play the defamation game, yet cry foul when true issues (desertion and addiction) are brought up.
But really it's quite simple. Don't claim to have served proudly and don't attempt to drag up war vets that are going to trash a man that both served in hostile conditions but also was awarded multiple purple hearts, and chances are the Bush service record will be left alone. Try to bull**** us, and we'll use the facts.
I find it interesting how the word "facts" is being used these days. Do you mean "facts" like you find through research of reputable sources? Or do you mean "facts" as defined by Terry McAwful and Michael Moore?
Nobody questioned Kerry's military service. What was questioned were his actions AFTER he returned home - upon which he decided to paint every soldier as a "committer of atrocities" in a pathetic attempt to salve his own guilt for things he admitted to doing in Vietnam.
Those questions are valid, and relate directily to the election:
Do we want a Commander in Chief that so willingly disparaged the reputation of the entire Armed Forces just to make himself feel better?
Do we want a CIC that would vehemently argue for military action, then change positions in a matter of months for political expediency, and before the job is done and all the "facts" have been revealed? Is that the guy we want in charge of our military?
Look, DEMS are the ones trying to cram Kerry's military record down people's throats, okay? Bob Dole and Bush 41 understood the valor in discretion - they didn't need their minions to remind everyone of their heroism because it went without saying. The fact that every article and every Dem talking head has to mention Kerry's military record speaks volumes about the true nature of his heroism.
In other words: If you have to keep reminding everyone of what a hero you are, then maybe you really aren't one.
Keep hitting me with the "facts" though - and say hi to Michael Moore in Fantasy Land for me, willya?
