And on a humorous note...a chick in one of my labs had a shirt that had "WTF?" on the front.

Thanks dawg,

Also didnt mean to underscore the Ramone death. That group made good music and the music community will miss Dee Dee.

Man, that is bad news. Really dates a fellow when his 'contemporary' rock heroes start to go, even at a relatively young age. I was never into the Ramones, but I do know their role in the evolution of the scene that was. When Joey went a while ago, it was bad enough.

But on the better side, tickets for another CBGB alumni go on sale tomorrow and I'm there dude! Blondie and the B52s at Merriweather July 31, on sale tomorrow at 11 AM.

You know you are getting old when you can easily get good tickets to the shows you want to see...

The ramones were great. Anyone who likes this genre should at a minimum get their first 2 albums.

First Joey, now Dee Dee. This sucks.

Unfortunately it seems like The Ramones were never really taken very seriously for their influence on pop music in the last 25 or so years up until after they disbanded.

What everybody else missed out on! I'm happy to say one of my first acquisitions as a record buyer was their Rocket to Russia album when I was in seventh grade (1979-1980) ... which really had a profound influence on me as a music fan for years and years to come.
