Falacy No. 1:

Homeland is terribly misleading because the Israeli state had been gone for nearly 20 centuries. Imagine if the Mayans were claiming the right to reestablished a state independent of Mexico and Guatemala (which may be a slight part of the dynamic in the Chiapas mess, but I'm not an expert on it).

Falacy No. 2: Left unstated is the plain fact that the state of Israel was never given possesion of Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, and other lands now under dispute. A long series of United Nations resolutions makes this clear -- both before and after the war alluded to in the article.

The land was under British control....if they gave it up to form Israel...who's bitching? If Mexico was to give up the land the Mayans inhabited.....who's bitching?
