Thou shalt not steal Christian Music

When it comes to piracy of Christian tunes, the industry is trying to turn the other cheek

The Dallas Morning News

Christian teens are stealing Jesus music.

They're doing it through Internet downloads and CD burnings at nearly the same rate as secular music is being pirated by non-Christians, according to a new study done for the Gospel Music Association.

The findings were a jolt to many in the evangelical music industry, who expected churchgoing teens to be mindful of the Commandment, "Thou shalt not steal."

I blame it on their most visible "christian" role models.

Yeah but if you polled most teenagers and college kids, most would consider it not stealing.

Personally, neither do I, nor do a lot of the artists. Radio feeds us nothing but crap. File sharing, as Chuck D put it, is "the new radio" because it allows people to hear music before buying it, like radio once did. MP3's are generally low quality, just like a tape made from the radio. People used to take their vinyl and record it on cassette for their cars, and their friends. The only thing that has changed is that the record companies and radio are mainly producing garbage. When they see their profits decline they should look in the mirror, not at kids swapping files. When they decided that MBA's in expensive suits were more qualified than people like Clive Davis to run their industry, they got just what they deserved. Market a record enough and it will sell in a lot of cases. That doesn't make it good. Market and sell enough crap, and people will choose to find their music elsewhere.

News flash: Buddhist, Confucian, Jewish & atheist teenagers are stealing this stuff too. What is it with you goofs; is there no subject involving perceived "conservatives' that you can't stoop to to try to insult the mindsets you abhor?
