Good. I want them to lose their as*es in the free for all of truly competitive commerce. Let's see if they can survive.

Duh they are going to survive as long as their are still liberal radio owners across the U.S. The question is how long are they going to be able to afford the "less than intelligent" hosts they have now, they will need to expand their markets to keep up with their pay. But im sure if all else fails papa clinton or kennedy will pick up the bill.

Maybe. It's a strange dynamic with talk radio. Can't have been too well organized from the get-go to have had these problems within a matter of weeks.

They have some good personalities so far, and some not so good. That puts them ahead of the "conservative" pack already. :D

Btw, Franken had G. Gordon Liddy as a guest last week. Think maybe Rush will invite Al now? :roflol:

Liddy pulled no punches when expressing his opinions on O'Reilly. He and Franken traded barbs and generally cracked each other up. It was civil, intelligent, and hilarious. Ever hear anything like that on "conservative" radio?

Franken's guests today include John McCain and G. Gordon Liddy. I guess we can expect Al and Ted Kennedy on Rush's show any day now, right?

I still haven't had the chance to listen to Air America (I wonder if Murphysboro will be their next planned expansion) but as one who listens to both Con and lib talk radio I do have to say that Mark Levine and Thom Hartmann are cordial, genteel hosts.

Rush, Neal, Savage and Sean are all junkyard kick-dogs.

Bill O'Reilly makes me laugh the most out of all the Con hosts; he will, occasionally, break ranks in order to keep up his no-spin facade.

But the rest of right-wing talk radio is a trip into the world of Joseph Goebbels:

Quote:Everything follows a secret plan in the hands of the Führer. This sum of these essays and speeches makes clear the logic of the war. It depends on a consciousness of German security and superiority. Our whole thinking in this war is contained in this one sentence: "Germany has always been as strong as it is today, but never knew it."

Sieg Heil!

Somehow, JBR, I don't think you will ever hear the airheads of Air America, unless you subscribe to XM or Sirius. I don't think the show will ever be broadcast outside of leftist compounds such as SF.

The real pity is that there is nowhere a radio program in which people of opposing political views can debate issues, without the thing quickly descending into emotionalism (I just want to protect the women and babies of America when I am not advocating killing the babies; I just want to protect the basic American right to pursue one's own dreams without the interference of guv'mint), party line, cant, lies and evasions, and finger pointing. The problem is that the American public has been so dumbed down by public (and pubic too) education that it can't tell the difference between serious debate and a food fight. Radio and televsion cannot sell serious debate.

Rush will never "debate" anyone that he can't hang up on. I may not agree with most of what Liddy says, but he's not afraid to go toe to toe with people who have opposing ideas. Rush is a liar and a coward...and he knows it.

Sure thing, Pookie. Document my lies, I'll give you a list of Rush's. As far as my being a coward, we'll let that one slide for now.

I'm still waiting for the list of my lies. 05-nono

Here's a free sample, though:

"Do you know we have more acreage of forest land in the United States today than we did at the time the Constitution was written?"

"There's no such thing as an implied contract."

"Ladies and gentlemen, we now know why there is this institutional opposition to low tax rates in the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. It's because [low tax rates] are biblical in nature and in root. When you can trace the lowering of tax rates on grain from 90 percent to 20 percent giving seven fat years during the days of Pharaoh in Egypt, why then you are tracing the roots of lower taxes and rising prosperity to religion.... You can trace individual prosperity, economic growth back to the Bible, the Old Testament. Isn't it amazing?" (

"It has not been proven that nicotine is addictive, the same with cigarettes causing emphysema [and other diseases]."

"There are more American Indians alive today than there were when Columbus arrived or at any other time in history. Does this sound like a record of genocide?"

Btw, you can not declare Rush's drug abuse as off limits. The hypocrite advocated harsh mandatory prison sentences for exactly the crime that he comitted.

Technically true, we only had 13 colonies, and then you add the mountain west and alaska, probally a true statement.
