At Aushwitz in 1942 1,356,412 people were murdered. I did the grisly math. Can you imagine gasing and burning 160 people an hour over a year.

Let us never forget.

PBS had a good documentary on Auschwitz last night. 3D models, interviews, footage, and photos. I enjoyed its thoroughness. What was astounding was when they interviewed one of the SS officers that ran the actual camp. They asked him if he had any remorse for making his life better (the SS stole stuff from incoming prisoners) while simultaneously destroying the lives of thousands of others. He said no, and then tried to justify it! He said that to focus on just the 6 millions Jews that died was not fair, and that millions of other people died in the war that were just as important. What this guy failed to understand was that these 6 million did not have to die, nor where they combatants.
