I don't know. Roosevelt wasn't a democrat like the dems of today are. He knew what it took to defend this country against facism. Those of today don't.

That's what I'm saying. I don't think his is a problem with fighting. His is a problem with someone with an ® by his name doing the right thing and getting credit for it.

You could be right, I have just seen too many times liberals playing politics with our national security.

That's it? A piece from 2002 from people that you, in the past, have shown contempt for?
I don't have time to respond to everything is this thread. I get ganged up on every time I come in here.

The reality is, as of mid-January:

-- 55 percent of Americans thought George Bush was mishandling Iraq.
-- 49 percent believed invading Iraq was a mistake.
-- 59 percent believed the Bush administration was either hiding important elements of what they knew or mostly lying about weapons of mass destruction.

<a href='http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm</a>

So I'm not going to answer all your questions and respond to all your insults. It just isn't possible.

If you want answers -- call up a friend. You see the poll numbers. Chances are pretty good that someone close to you agrees with me on those basics.

That said, I can't let the above post go.

I have never, in my life, felt contempt for the Catholic Church. And I resent the accusation.

I am also sick and tired of conservatives thinking theirs is the party of God.

Quote:Weak Schad. ...and again, THEY aren't the litmus test for morality either. There have been so many attrocities caused under the veil of Catholicism it isn't even funny. While Pope Pius XII helped the Jews during the Holocaust, he never once condemned Hitler for doing it.

Who is showing contempt now?

Mormons engaged in polygamy. The Southern Baptist Convention was founded for the express purpose of upholding their pro-slavery views.

Take the plank out of your own eye.

Schad, I'm non-denominational, for one. Two, my contempt is not in question because I didn't use a source from someone I didn't agree with. Three, you cite one poll. Are you the type to take one poll at it's word these days? ...or just the one that agrees with what you want to believe?

Just a few more numbers for you SF.

60+ million people voted for Bush
Republicans gained 4 seats in the Senate
Republicans gained I believe 4 in the House

Feel free to keep fighting the battles and making the arguments that didn't work for the past 2 years. The fact is you lost. The majority of voters don't agree with you. Get over it.

Not piling on Catholics, but their view of morality isn't worth more than mine. Did you agree with their assessment? That is why I don't blindly follow any religion. I follow blind faith, mind you, but religion is not faith.
