Quote:Sen. John Kerry, who called for Karl Rove to be fired over allegations that he revealed the identity of CIA employee Valerie Plame, outed a genuine undercover CIA agent just this past April - even after the Agency asked that his identity be kept secret.

Kerry blew the cover of CIA secret operative Fulton Armstrong during confirmation hearings for U.N. ambassador nominee John Bolton.

Questioning Bolton, Kerry asked: "Did Otto Reich share his belief that Fulton Armstrong should be removed for his position?" - according to a transcript excerpted by the New York Times.

"The answer is yes," the top Democrat continued.

In his response to Kerry, Mr. Bolton did his best to maintain the agent's confidentiality, reverting to the Armstrong's pseudonym.

"As I said," he told Kerry, "I had lost confidence in Mr. Smith, and I conveyed that."

Two years earlier, Armstrong had been identified in news reports on his dispute with other officials over intelligence involving Cuba. But he was operating in a different capacity and his identity wasn't secret at the time.

"When the Bolton nomination resurrected the old accounts, however, the C.I.A. asked news organizations to withhold his name," the Times said.

Apparently the CIA directive wasn't good enough for Sen. Kerry - who outed Armstrong anyway and later defended the move by saying his Republican colleague, Senator Richard Lugar, had also mentioned the name.

And besides, said Kerry, the secret agent's name "had already been in the press."

I remember this, but for some reason, it was squashed. You liberals wonder why Fox News is so popular with Conservatives? It's quite simple, because we can't rely on the liberal press to give us ALL of the information.

Derp, derp, derp.

She wasn't a covert operative. This just points out bias, partisanship, and a hidden agenda. Where's the outrage? Hell, before the Times had their "short" story about this, I saw it on C-Span.

Quote:"She made no bones about the fact that she was an agency employee and her husband was a diplomat," Fred Rustmann, a covert agent from 1966 to 1990, told The Washington Times.

Quote:Wilson acknowledged his wife was no longer in an undercover job at the time Novak's column first identified her. "My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity," he said.

...again, just an attempt to smear the administration.

No media bias?

How about this week's Parade Magazine, where Bill Clinton was listed among the world's smartest men?

Say what? :bang:

Gee, I keep hoping Oddball will be back to tell us how the news media have been taken over by the right-wing "neo-cons".

Check out this story:

<a href='http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4753983' target='_blank'>http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...storyId=4753983</a>

Despite individuals doing well economically, and despite a bunch of indicators saying the economy is ok, the majority of folks think our economy is in trouble, and it's Bush's fault.

So, where does this idea come from? Maybe newspapers that report unemploymemt going up, but not down...and that the deficit may reach unprecedented highs, but not report that tax revenues increased...that gas "may" hit $3 or een $4/gallon...etc.

The news media reports "truth" but only the truth they want to report. Bad news gets headlines, good news gets buried. And folks evidently can't think for themselves.

That's funny. I've been pointing out the same thing to my left-wing friends.

Them: "The economy sucks!"
Me: "Really? You seem to be doing very well. How does it suck?"
Them: "Um...Bush is an idiot."
Me: "Hmmm...and the economy?"
Them: "Our rights are being trampled! The Bill of Rights no longer exists!"
Me: "Really? What has happened to you? Who do you know that has been a victim of the Bush Administration or the Patriot Act?"
Them: "Well, no. But it COULD happen."
Me: "Well, you could slip on soap in your bathroom and die from hitting your head on the title floor. Are you going back in your bathroom knowing that?"
Them: "Um...Bush is an idiot."

Nah. It's been done too many times.

Like the Protest Warrior videos where left-wing nutjobs were scolding the right-wing protestors for not talking about all the positives that come with dictatorships.

Or the videos from Brain-Terminal.com where the guy is all but assulted for filming a Pro-Palastinian rally at a University or where the let-wing nutjobs can't answer any question without insulting Bush or can only answer questions by insulting Bush.

He is a smart guy. You're dumb if you don't think so. You may not like him, but he's very intelligent. And since when is Parade magazine into ranking the world spartest men?

I am not a Clinton fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I must admit that he is an extremely smart guy, one of the greatest politicians, and an excellent speaker.
