I am definitely pro-life, but this article is a little schetchy at best.
It starts out great with statistics based on facts for the first two paragraphs. The third paragraph is the transition, citing responses from Glamour magazine. Finally, the article moves into crazy-talk-mode based on the assumptions of the author with no data or statistics to back up anything. I can only imagine how pro-choicers feel, if I think this is a total sham.
Quote:Glamour gets it partly right. But the magazine neglects the most important reasons. First, since pro-choice women aborted their daughters, those daughters didn’t grow up to advocate for abortion rights. Meanwhile, pro-life women have taught their daughters why it’s wrong to kill unborn children.
1. Not all pro-choice women abort their children.
2. Using similar logic, that should mean that there will never be anymore child suicides because children who commit suicide don't have kids.
3. Although pro-life women have probably taught their daughters why they feel it's wrong to kill unborn children, it does not mean that the children would feel the same way. i.e. Do all kids of atheists become atheists? Do all kids of Christians become Christians? I don't think so.
Quote:Second, today’s college kids know that some of their sisters and brothers are missing because their mothers had abortions—and they know that, under different circumstances, they themselves might have been aborted.
What the hell does this mean? Isn't there the possibility that we all could have been aborted under "different" circumstances?
Quote:Third, women who abort are breaking through the media blackout to tell their stories—telling younger women how their bodies were damaged by so-called safe, legal abortions—describing how their abortions led to infertility, and to emotional pain that won’t go away.
This is the first I had heard of this. These women must not be breaking all the way through the media blackout.
Quote:For 32 years, support for legal abortion has been based on a pack of lies. But now, the truth is coming out, and young women are listening: Abortion often damages women—and always kills babies.
If you are going to make that statement, at least list what the lies are. Where was the truth? I must have missed it. If it was that Abortion often damages women, can you list some statistics to back this up, rather than a blanket statement?
The only thing I did agree with is that abortion kills babies, but then this isn't a new statement or a new piece of truth that would sway young girls. Therefore, there must be something else that is driving this change. What is it? That would be information that would actually be useful and possibly help in changing Roe vs. Wade. This drivel didn't even persuade me and I am already on the pro-life side.
