Smith chooses to play senior season at ETSU
Smith led the Bucs to back-to-back NCAA Tournament trips in 2003 and 2004.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 16, 2005) – East Tennessee State point guard Tim Smith (Newport News, Va.) announced on Thursday that he will return to the Buccaneers for his senior season in 2005-06. Smith, who had put his name in the NBA Draft pool, said he wanted to end his college career on a high note.

Good for you guys... bad for everyone else. I'm sure he'll be glad he's there for his senior year.

Tim is an exciting player, but out of control too much of the time in my opinion. He can definitely score alot of points but some fans have been critical of his low assist to turnover ratio.
Nevertheless he is one of the most exciting players we have ever had and will hopefully be focused on having a better year this year. Perhaps a deeper
supporting cast awaits him this year. Different at least. We shall see.
GO BUCS !

I agree, JW, Timmy is definitely out of control at times. He is also brilliant at times. With the depth that the Bucs have added this year, I don't think that Tim will feel so compelled to shoot. And, it is in his best career interest to distibute the ball--NBA scouts have told him as much. He will be a different point guard this year with flashes of his characteristic creativity.
I have also noticed that every time Tim plays a new opposing guard, they have trouble adjusting. Thus, his guard counterparts in the A-Sun will be made to look silly on their initial matchups with him.
I can't wait for the season to start
