With all the "so long, farewell" posts, let's have one to formally welcome three great programs to the Atlantic Sun.

Welcome Bucs, Owls and Ospreys!

Thanks for the welcome. This move has finally come to fruition for us after 2 years of planning. Many buc fans including myself felt ambivalent about this move. We had a great run in the SoCon and many were concerned about losing old rivalries and traveling farther for away games. Nevertheless, I know that I'm very excited and optimistic about this move, and come tournament time in March, I believe new rivalries will be established and our concerns will be a memory. Plus, I can't wait to see other venues and players.
It is also very exciting for us to have the tournament coming to Johnson City. Buc Fans are passionate about ETSU athletics and we always draw big crowds for both home and away games. We led the SoCon in attendance last year and I'm pretty sure we have for the last several years.
We are also looking to "right the ship" this year. After last year's disappointing season, fans and players are determined to return to our status of the previous 4 seasons. You guys will love watching Tim Smith, if you haven't seen him already. I have no doubt he's the fastest PG in college basketball.
Good luck to all. I look forward to discussing this exciting season.

Go Bucs

I'm glad to be here as well. Please ignore the Buc fans on the SoCon board who think that the A-Sun is nothing but a DII conference. We all know that the A-Sun is just about on the same level as the SoCon, but they think the SoCon is Conference USA or something. Just dont want you guys to get the wrong idea about us!

Good luck in 2005-2006! 04-cheers
