Welcome from a MAC board member.

I wish the SBC well in all its efforts, except those against the MAC (or ASU).

First question: what's the status of Troy St joining the SBC? I've heard answers each way. Are they joining? Is there a delay? Do SBC fans want them?

Secondly, is the SBC paring down its western presence? I understand some western schools are switching to the WAC. Personally, I think this could help both conferences by promoting natural rivalries and cutting travel expenses. What's the sentiment here?

Troy St. will be in the conference next year, and the western schools are leaving the conference to join the WAC and other conferences. That leaves the schools in the southeast by ourselves which works out for all the schools in the conference, as far as travel expenses.

Idaho will still be in the conference.

As of right now yes, but I do not see how they can remain without any other western schools. For their sake and our sake I hope something works out for them to go to the WAC.

Only way I see the WAC taking them is if LA Tech would get a C-USA invite. And I don't see that invite making it down that far.

Idaho will leave the conference, even if it means dropping 1A football. They CANNOT afford to travel in the Sun Belt. No way no how.

Right on Jeff, no more than LaTech can afford to stay in the WAC if no C-USA invite comes their way.

Tech will stay to spite themself.

It's like TCU jumping around:

WAC
C-USA
MWC

They are still looking for that Big 12 invite that they didn't get in the mid 90s. And will never get. But some how thnk the conf jumping will get them there
