What is a Sun Belt forum without the discussion of who the next All Sports member will be.

ULM? La Tech? Someone else?

La Tech is evidently waiting at the alter for CUSA, if stood up hopefully the Techster fans can swallow their pride and join us. I do not want Funroe as a full member of the Sunbelt. The only thing to do up there is play disc golf and the course they have is underwater half the time.

Do you think La Tech would leave the WAC for Sun Belt? They seem pretty stubborn about it.

Depends on how deep the pockets are of the Tech supporters who want to stay in the WAC, from what I've heard it's very expensive to travel in the WAC.

I don't see them being able to afford that and I know I would not want my school to be out on an island like that but you never know. I guess the lack of discussion over the whole realignment issue is because people are soooooooooooooooooo tired of wondering and guessing about it and just want it all to be over. All I can say is I hope when it is all said and done that we have 12 strong members and at least 8 D-1A football playing schools. Many people like to put our football down but this will be our 4th season. I see overall improvement. We all can and will get better in all sports.

SwampHound, I am with you. I am ready to get a SOLID, REGIONAL conference with 12 great teams, with 8-9 football.

Ideally:

Arkansas State
Florida Atlantic
Florida International
Louisiana's Cajuns ( just for you :) )
Middle Tennessee
North Texas
Troy State
Louisiana Tech or Louisiana's Indians

Arkansas Little Rock
New Orleans
South Alabama
Western Kentucky

If Louisiana's Indians choses to remain a Football only member and we cannot get La Tech, then I like the idea of inviting Murray State for everything but football. Murray State is strong in basketball and would give MTSU and WKU another great close rivalry.
