MaXx, don't read too much into these predicitions. It will take FIU kicking a couple of teams teeth out to get some respect. It will happen sooner or later. I saw your team play here last year, you guys have talent.

Oh, I know, we haven't beaten anyone yet, so I understand the reasoning behind the predictions. I'm just stating that I think we might be a little tougher than people give us credit for. Troy State beat us 21-10 last season, the Lafayette game was a lot more lopsided but that was a crazy 4 minutes at the end of the first half.

Looking at your 2003 roster I saw only 1 senior, 13 juniors, 38 sophomores and 32 freshman. You guys had a very young team with little or no senior leadership. I think within the next 2 or 3 years your team will be very competitive. After all this was only the 2nd year of FIU football.

Yeah, I know this is a good team, this season there shouldn't be anymore moral victories, we should play to win. I'm hoping that if we avoid injury, have one quarterback throughout the season, and hopefully our defense improves with the addition of a true defensive coordinator, we will be able to surprise some people.

Hey Rocketfootball guy. Stan Hill did play in the Marshall game against TSU last year. I was there.

He went 25-39 ofr 266 yards with 3 TDs and 2 INTS. One of his interceptions was returned 70 yards late in the game to help put us up. We were killing the other QB (gouchnear) and Hill played the majority of the game. Don't know if he played any more in the season or not.

Here's a link to the stats on that game: http://www.troystate.com/football/stats/tsu5.htm

Don't let the Marshall fans fool you with excuses. They got beat that night. No two ways about it.

Rocketfan, how's Toledo going to be this year? The MAC looks like it will be wide open, especially since Rothesburger (sp?) left early.
Question. Speaking of quarterback's not playing, wasn't the K-State quarterback injured and out for the K-State/Marshall game?

That is correct he did not play (not sure if he was hurt or not) here are the stats for that game LINK

I agree they got beat. However, they are a much better team at home. They haven't only lost 2 home games since they rejoined I-A in 1997 for nothing.

Troy State's offensive is still very questionable, as is who will be the quarterback. A very talented D.T. McDowell could be major competition for current starter Aaron Leak.

So here are my predictions:

Marshall - W (we did it once, we can do it again)
Missouri - W (we didn't lose a single game at MGS last year, don't plan on losing any this year either)
LSU - L (stranger things have happened, but unless LB sells his soul to Satan, I cant see TSU winning this one)
South Carolina - W (why not?)
I don't see Marshall backing out on Troy State when they also play Georgia and Ohio State. If they are not afraid of Georgia and OSU, why would they be afraid of Troy State.

I also don't see Troy State beating Marshall in Huntington. Don't forget Marshall played with their backup QB after their starter went out in the 3rd game of the season. That starter will be back for this fall and the their team should be much better this fall.

Missouri - No way! QB Brad Smith will eat TSU alive. Missouri is very good.
RocketFootball,

That's what everyone thought when MT went up and played Mizzou last year and Mizzou squeeked out the win in overtime...
