I just wanna say how much respect I have for the WMU program. They scared the crap outta me sat night. WMU's team is as talented as any in the MAC and better than 70% of the 1-A teams despite a very misleading 2-5 record.
I think WMU's wr's are the best in the conference. And their Defense, despite giving up 492 yards to BG, is a great one.

WMU has built some great facilities and recruited well over the last 5 years. They are still a power in the MAC and as good as BG, UT and NIU.
CMU, despite the horrible game (not in NIU fans eyes!) sat, is becoming a solid team as well. Dare I say the MAC West is better than the East??!!

Anyway, Broncos, my feathers are off to you for a very impressive showing Sat night. Yes, we have some injury concerns but we still had to work for every little thing we gained. Best of luck the rest of the season and ya'll could help us out by beating NIU this week! 03-wink I see you get UT in Kalamazoo also...

GO BG!!! GO MAC!!! \ 04-cheers

FalconFreak,

Thank you for the kind words. Right now we are all still upset that we have lost 2 games by 4 points and 1 by 3 points. BG is a good team, but the Broncos also helped you guys with a couple of mistakes, most notably the interception returned for a touchdown and the two touchdown passes dropped in the endzone.

Thank you for the beer and I will return the favor in Kalamazoo.

Please, upgrade your scoreboard and fill the stadium with fannies.

Right now the Broncos backs are against the wall and have to win every game to have a chance and with a little help get Toledo, NIU, and BG to lose a couple of games. So, if WMU can win out beating (NIU, BSU, EMUgly, UT, and CMU) that means NIU would have to beat BG and UT, but lose at least one more game. BG would have to lose to either BSU or UT, and somehow end up with three losses. Somewhere along the line UT would have to lose one more game after the WMU loss for WMU to have a chance. :D

Anyone else confused now? 03-banghead 04-cheers 04-drinky 04-drinky

John,
In all fairness, BG wr Charles Sharon dropped 4 or 5 passes and Josh Harris did throw an INT that was returned 30 or 40 yards. The Int that Patton returned for a touchdown was a product of Patton downing Pat Fleming's punt at the 1 yrd line. We had WMU backed up and made a big play. Special teams were very important again...WMU returned a kickoff for a td and BG blocked a WMU potential game winning FG. The punt mentioned above was huge. Anyone who tries to tell me special teams aren't as important as offense or defense must be smoking crack! I almost forgot the fake punt BG ran from its own 44...Mitch Hewitt, LB, got the short snap and rambled 35 yrds and a key first down.

It was a great game, both teams made plays AND mistakes and yes I am very confused!!! :D :D

Luckily we get most of our injured starters back for this week's game vs Ball State. Still, Rick Mauer is nowhere on the two deep at Dline. He was playing so well until getting injured at CMU.

Good luck vs NIU...and we are working on that scoreboad issue. When you only draw 6-9k for games for a few years, there is no money to upgrade. Currently there are plans for a new training complex to be built next to Perry Stadium, including a jumbotron type scoreboard. Approx. cost of project is $9 mil.

Right now, all I care is that scoreboard not burn out its lights with all the points we score!

By the way, I thought it was against the rules for a player to go into the endzone and come back out. From the vantage point we had in the press box, you could see green in between Patton's shoes and the goalline when he came back and downed the punt. The punt should have been placed at the 20 instead of the 1/2 yardline. So you guys did catch a break there.

I agree, both teams made mistakes and the better team on the field one the game.

I love seeing 93 points being scored in a game, as long as it's a close game.
