6'4 170 - Seems way too thin
Also look at his other interested schools Holy Cross, James Madison, EMU, St. Francis & Robert Morris. Not exactly our caliber of programs.
I hope we're not making a big reach here

Here is the article from the Record Courier. Has a little more info. Sounds like the kid has his head on straight. You gotta like that. I don't think we have to worry too much about the size. He still has to play his senior year and everybody is skinny in high school. (I miss those days). One last point, It is amazing how we are still reaping recruiting rewards from that elite eight run.
basketball McKee verbally commits to KSU

Mike McKee should have no problem fitting in on Kent State’s men’s basketball team when arrives on campus in 2005.
The Pittsburgh native is a gym rat, just like DeAndre Haynes, Nate Gerwig, Scott Cutley, Jason Edwin and the rest of his future Golden Flashes teammates.
And that’s exactly why the sharp-shooting, 6-foot-4 guard from suburban Pittsburgh changed his plan to attend Holy Cross and instead made a verbal commitment to play at Kent State Monday morning.
“He visited other campuses, and he said he liked the schools, but he didn’t feel comfortable with the teams,

We needed a shooter and it sounds like the kid can shoot; but I hope JC is grooming a real Big-man
from somewhere to come in here. A team full of 6-4" to 6-6" guys is fine and dandy if you got a least one
good center to fill the void and we have Big Nate (hope he stays healthy!!.

Remember, this kid is a not for this year. He has a season of High school to go. He was listed as 6'2" last year. I would guess that the is projected to be 6'-5" by the time he gets to play for Kent. At over 20 points per game as a HS junior, he seems like a good risk. We are specialist at taking diamonds in the rough and adding the polish.

We are Kent State....
[quote]During those visits, McKee played pick-up games with college players, “but he said it didn’t feel like it was coming from the heart. He said it was like they were out there because they had to be out there.

He sounds like a Golden Flash to me! I agree with Reno and GFlash, he's still a baby. He could easily shoot up another 2 or 3 inches this season. There should be plenty of athleticism next year so they could even redshirt him if need be. That would give him even more time to put on some weight and work on his game. Either way, welcome aboard!
