On September 27, I started a post titled "Class Less Zippies" which repreated something of which I had no personal knowledge. I claimed that the University of Akron Football team left damage in the Kent State away locker room. Since that time, The Kent State Athletics Department has disputed this claim. It appears to be unture.

This information was provided in a non public forum. I should not have repreated something of which I have no personal knowledge. Trust me, I know better. It was an intemperate and unfair thing to do. I blame no one but myself. Therefore, I apologize to the University of Akron, its football team, Kent State, and most of all, to the fellow Flash posters on this board.

Finally, please know that no one has asked or pressured me to post this message. No one. No representatives from the MACbbs mods, the University of Akron or Kent State. But if I repeated something that was untrue, that's not fair. If I caused this, I have to speak up. I can put myself in the shoes of the University of Akron fans to understand how unfair this may feel to them. I am truly sorry. And, I hope you know that the last thing I wish to be is a Kent State fan who embarasses fellow fans and the Flashes.

Your very well respected Flashfan; sometimes we can get caught up in our frustrations with this Football program. The Zippies
(bless their miserable hearts) just came in here and beat us that Thursday night :mad: fair and square.

Actually, I think the responses show who has the class here. Thank you for being so gracious, especially you, bigbear. I don't know that I'd show the charity you do. You are a representative the University of Akron can feel very proud to have.

Its OK, Its OK. Anything goes when talking about zippers. Your apology in no way lifts my opinion of Buchtle Junior College. If it was not true, it very well could have been. How did we lose to that bag of rocks? We are really bad. Now I feel a little better.

Flashfan, I got your personal message, and thanks again. Unfortunately, I'm not proficient enough on the mechanics of this board so I have to reply here. You have completely saved my opinion of not only you but all Flash fans (except maybe GFlash 68, so intent on dogging my fine institution he just can't see the inappropriateness of doing it here), and as I have said before, while I enjoy the rivalry I do respect Kent as an institution and a competitor.

Very, very few have the internal confidence to say what you have said in this thread and in your personal message. I wish Kent well the rest of the season and we'll see you in bb season soon enough.
