Make Cribbs a runningback and let one of the backup QB's take the helm of this team. No one can stop Cribbs and Alston is a joke. The best thing about Kent State football right now is that basketball season begins next Saturday. This team is awful and is not going to get better next week when we get stomped during our own homecoming.
Our folks running the sports department did a great job in finding Doug Martin. Nice search plan guys. We have actually gotten worse from a year ago which is hard to imagine.

I will let the Brain Trust of this board try to figure out Kent's football woes. Last year most of you wanted Pees gone and you got your wish. Now that Martin is coach, Kent's program has gotten worse.
My statement that Cribbs-Alston could not be stopped was correct until Miami made half-time adjustments. I am aware that Alston did not have many total yards but when Kent was moving up and down the field during the 1st half, I believe Alston made some key yardage to get us some 1st downs.
Make no mistake, I am not pleased with the team's performance but am I the only one on this board who is not concern with the possibility that the program could lose its Div. 1-A status or that the University could eventually terminate the football program based on a lack of interest?
A dramatic drop in attendance over an extended period of time would eventually make the program a financial liablility and could force the University to consider dropping the program altogether. Let me warn you that any orchestrated boycott could ultimately lead to such a dissolution.
Based on the team's performance, I don't expect a large crowd at Homecoming. But perhaps I will have the opportunity to meet some of you there and we can continue this conversation before or after the game.
Let me repeat, I am frustrated with our team's performance but abandoning our players and coaches at this juncture is not going to help the situation.

The silence is deafening.

Guys you beat the team you were supposed to beat - Liberty.
You got beat bad by the team you were supposed to get killed by - Iowa.
You hung in for a half and then got beat on the road by a team that was supposed to kill you - Miami.
You lost two games on the road by a combined 11 points, one team, Rutgers, is a Big East team.
You lost one game at home to a team which should be good but is struggling - Akron.
I dont see where your season is going any differently than what should have been expected.

We are disappointed because there were 3 games that we could have won. Even a bad team would normally win 1 out of 3 for games in the could have range. I think most of us realize that our team has no heart. I do believe that Martin will recruit better than Pees. Martin probably has aspirations. He will put more energy into recruiting. At least I hope so.

Thank you for those words of faint comfort and I mean faint. The reason you can’t understand our disappointment is because you have never experienced the constant succession of “wait until next year(s).
