RE: let's get this tread to a million!
Some great places to visit Lush and Dale. Living in North Carolina for the past 12 1/2 years has given me the opportunity to see some great sights in the North Carolina and Virginia Appalachian Mountain Ranges (Black Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains). I still haven't made it to the Outer Banks/Kitty Hawk yet but it is on my to-do list. I did get the pleasure and privilege of visiting the Hawaiian islands back in the summer of 2000 with my wife and it was full of incredible beauty, lush color and great culture. I would like to go back some day.

A good buddy I used to work with has traveled all over the place and he favored visiting Maine in the summer and the Florida Keys in the winter. Those are two places I would add to my visit list along with many of the National Parks including Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. I once asked him of all the places he'd seen what stood out and he said Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.
