Better geography for New Mexico State I guess? Their proximity to Texas. They border Texas and Texas border's Louisiana etc.

Geography and the Kibbie Dome

NMSU has an approrpriate stadium for FBS football, is a plausible member for all sports (some would say desirable), and is considered to be a potential rival for at least one of our programs. NMSU can also leverage its Sun Belt membership for enhanced recruiting (NMSU recruits in the SBC footprint).

I don't think there is a single poster on this forum that wishes Idaho ill. But I'm not aware of any non-Idaho posters that actually want Idaho in the conference. I'd be very happy for Idaho and NMSU if the MWC decided to go to 14 and took both of them. We know that isn't likely to happen.

Idaho can help their case by doing something about their inappropriate stadium and their football success profile. Both of those actions are made more difficult by at least the perception that Idaho's tenure in FBS is very tenuous. Idaho is in a bad situation.
