I have to admit I will be disappointed if LU doesn't get the invite, but at the same time it will be entertaining to watch the JMU meltdown. Seems most of their faculty and alumni just don't like you guys?

If the sun belt is a one or two year stepping stone, then maybe. If we are going to be in the slum for the next 5 to 10, I'd rather stay in FCS and go to the patriot league. Those teams excite me as much as most of the slum and the academic reputation is much better. I just can't get excited about it. Just my opinion.

If these Sun Belt rumors are true, I would be extremely embarrassed. I can't imagine faculty, students, or alumni would be happy with this development. Whether true or not, the Sun Belt has a bad reputation and perceived very poorly in the public eyes. Everything said up to this point about academic fit from our administration would no longer be true. Algers goal of increasing JMUs academic prominence on a national level does not fit with joining the Sun Belt. This wil not go over well. JMU is a young school still trying to build its reputation and this move would have many negative consequences. Instead of being associated with W&M, Delaware, and north eastern schools where a majority of students and alumni live, we will be associated with schools like South Alabama, Troy, and Arkansas State. Someone with closer ties to the JMU administration tell me this can't be true?
