Either the schools would need to bid for the tournament like it was done in the WAC when NMSU first joined. Or, the tournament would be awarded to the regular season champion of the prior year; giving the host school enough time to prepare.

In the current WAC, only NMSU, GCU, UVU, and Chicago State play in large enough campus venues. UMKC normally plays in the city own Municipal Auditorium. So they probably could secure that venue. And, Seattle U. periodically plays in the KeyArena. So, maybe, the KeyArena might have open dates in early March. But both Cal State Bakersfield and UT Rio Grande Valley need to secure their city (or privately) owned venues as well for a rotating WAC Champions Tournament to work; the Rabobank Arena and Bert Ogden Arena respectively.

Key Arena hosts the Pac 12 womens tournament so if SU had to host itd have to be in one of the 8-12k seat arenas in Kent or Everett. Hardly ideal. So basically, SU wouldnt be able to unless UW felt generous
