BTM:

"LHN keeps declining. Distribution keeps dwindling. DirectTV just blew out its knee caps with distribution changes"

"Texas & ESPN are in a general agreement LHN won't exist past 2025. Life span may be shorter, but not longer"

"Quite evident. No belief in LHN long term. It's not being fed. No new investments in LHN. No installation behind walls."

"LHN status of "dead horse" is significant for realignment. It's gives some oxygen for UT to stay in Big 12, but not much."

"More true now than ever Texas acknowledges internally Oklahoma's future is in changing its conference affiliation."

"Oklahoma's decision on President will signify change. The forces of change in Norman have won the day"

Nothing earth shattering, but BTM thinks OU is ready to leave, ESPN looking at ways to make LHN financially feasible or move on from it and still make Texas whole. I would think Espn would have a major influence on UT's decision.

I wouldn't be surprised it the SEC landed Texas and another (West Virginia, Texas Tech, etc d Kansas and Oklahoma went to the Big 10, or if Oklahoma and Oklahoma State come to the SEC and Texas is used for ESPN's acquisition of the PACN. Literally anything could happen. I expect whatever happens to happen between 2019 with the debut of the ACCN, and 2021. If we wait until 2023 then Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC is possible. It would be after all the most economical way for ESPN to bow out of the Big 12. Texas & OU to the SEC. Notre Dame and and West Virginia to the ACC. Take three of the top 5 Big 12 brands and throw the other 7 to FOX or whomever.

The PAC has paired networks. ESPN has contracts with Texas and Kansas for tier 3. That's a possibility.
Would Texas and Kansas buy ESPN permanent access to the B1G? Was Frank the Tank right all along?
Will the SEC really feel the need to take a second Florida school?
Will the basketball situation have an effect on realignment? Louisville kicked out?
Will Presidents take back their athletic departments? Shrinkage?
