It looks like this was a self-published book and honestly, if you like writing, there aren't many barriers to publishing if you go this route. Good for him if he enjoys writing in the extended free time that he has now. I hope retirement is treating him well.

I agree. Heck, a one paragraph post of reasonably coherent thought is tough enough for me. More power to those that give a book a try.
