That no scholarship limit was a killer back in the day. Even schools like Virginia Tech had NO SHOT back then. Ohio State and Alabama might carry 240 players on their rosters, leaving everyone else to scratch and sniff for 11 on offense and 11 on defense...

IMO, 85 is still TOO MANY, but now that the big powers have seen what that limit has done as far as parity goes, there is no way they'd ever agree to reducing it further... but that is exactly what would allow schools like Cincinnati to play schools like Ohio State toe-to-toe.

BIASED SYSTEM IS BIASED.
